Unexpectedly this afternoon, I met my long lost friend in a government office where I had transactions to be made. I never really expected to see him there because for all I know he was in no way connected to that office. But to my surprise, he was the one I will be talking to. And yes, in front of the many clients (who made a long line to be interviewed) we took turns in expressing what and how on earth we both are here. For his part, he said I was the least person he was expecting to be talking at and made some interviews.
On my part, he was also the least person I was expecting to be talking to. We were both amazed on how events like this happen. We almost forgot there were still people behind me who needs to be interviewed by him. After talking for almost thirty minutes, we both realized we are in an awkward situation because people behind me were staring at us. Some were amused. Most were annoyed.
I was at the PAG IBIG provincial office and had some transactions late this afternoon. I am a local government employee while he is connected with the Land Bank of the Philippines and assigned in R3 office. The reason why he is at the PAG IBIG office was that he is the one in-charge and the person deployed by their regional office to administer the distribution of automated teller machine cards whom PAG IBIG management requires all government employees to secure to be able to avail any of their offered programs which includes housing and multi-purpose loans.
We ended our conversation by exchanging mobile telephone numbers (as usual) and promised each other to give a ring and text messages. This made my day a seldom relaxing day! It is good to meet old friends in ways like this.
